The same rates apply in every city we teach in, and in every subject. The subject does not change the price. A Physics hour and a History hour cost the same, because the preparation behind them is comparable and charging by scarcity would mean charging most for the students who have fewest alternatives.

What moves a lesson within the range
Two things, and neither of them is how much we think you can pay. The first is level: a university or A Level session carries substantially more preparation than an IGCSE one, and the price reflects that. The second is format: a tutor teaching six students at once earns more per hour than one teaching a single student, which is why a group place costs half.
Admissions and English test preparation (SAT, GRE and IELTS) is priced as its own band rather than by school level, because the tests are revised on their own schedule and preparation has to track them rather than a syllabus.

What we do not charge for, and what we do not sell
There is no registration fee, no matching fee and no minimum commitment. There are also no prepaid packages. We could sell a discounted block of twenty lessons and most families would take it, but it would make stopping harder at exactly the moment stopping might be the right decision. Lessons are billed as taught, monthly, in arrears.
Cancellations
Twenty-four hours’ notice and the lesson moves at no cost. Inside twenty-four hours the slot is charged, because it was held and cannot be refilled. Illness and genuine emergencies are treated as such: we are not going to argue with you about a fever.
A note on comparing prices. An hourly rate is only comparable if what happens in the hour is comparable. Ask anyone you are considering whether the same tutor teaches every week, whether work is set and marked between sessions, and whether you get written feedback. Those three answers explain most of the price differences you will see.
Questions about cost
Why are your prices published when most tutoring sites hide theirs?
Because hiding them wastes everyone's time. If our rates are outside your budget you should find that out in ten seconds on this page, not after a phone call and a follow-up email. The numbers here are the real ones.
What determines the price?
Level and format, not subject. IGCSE sits at the lower end and university at the upper, because the preparation behind a university session is substantially heavier. Format then scales it: a paired lesson is about thirty per cent less per student than one-to-one, and a small group of up to six is half. A Physics hour and a History hour cost the same.
What currency are your prices in?
US dollars, at the same rates in every city we teach in. We quote in dollars because we are one online practice rather than a set of local ones: the lesson is identical wherever the student is, so charging by location would be arbitrary. If paying in your local currency matters, raise it when you get in touch and we will tell you what we can do.
Is the trial class really free?
Yes. A full hour of real teaching on real work, with no card details taken and nothing owed afterwards. If we think weekly tutoring is not what your child needs, we will tell you rather than let the hour sell it.
Do you offer packages or discounts for blocks of lessons?
We do not sell prepaid blocks. Paying up front for twenty lessons makes it psychologically harder to stop when stopping is the right call, and we would rather you stayed because it is working. Lessons are billed as they are taught.
How and when do I pay?
Monthly in arrears against the lessons actually taught, by bank transfer. You will get an itemised note of dates and durations with each invoice.
How does the free 1-hour trial class work?
You book a time, we call you, and we ask what is actually going wrong, the syllabus code, the year group, what the last report said, and what you have already tried. At the end of it we tell you whether we think tutoring will help, and if so what shape it should take. If we do not think we are the right fit, we say so on that call. There is no charge and no obligation to book anything afterwards.
Are lessons online or in person?
Online only. Every lesson is taught over video with a shared whiteboard and a live code editor, so the student and the tutor can write and run the same code at the same time. We do not offer in-home or in-person tutoring anywhere.
Who will actually teach my child?
A specialist we match to the subject, level and problem you describe when you get in touch. You will meet them on an introductory call before anything is booked, and it stays the same person week to week: continuity is most of what makes tutoring work. We will never name a tutor before one has actually been assigned.
How quickly can lessons start?
We reply within one working day, then match a specialist and tell you when the free trial class can happen the week after. If you are in an exam term and the timeline is tighter than that, say so on the call and we will tell you honestly whether we can meet it.
What happens if it is not working?
Tell us early rather than late. Sometimes the fix is a different approach; sometimes it is a different tutor; occasionally the honest answer is that tutoring is not the bottleneck and something else is. We would rather have that conversation in week three than have you quietly stop booking.
