Commerce in Doha: what usually goes wrong

Doha has an unusually concentrated international school sector for a city of its size, and a notably high proportion of students on the IB Diploma. That shapes what families need help with: the Diploma's Internal Assessments and Extended Essay are worth a large share of the final score, they are deadline-driven rather than exam-driven, and they are the part that most often slips while a student concentrates on the subjects that feel more urgent.

The pattern repeats across schools, and it is rarely about ability. It is about the gap between understanding a topic and being able to perform it under the exact conditions the paper imposes. In Commerce specifically, these are where the marks go:

• Content treated as pure memorisation, which fails as soon as a question asks why a chain of distribution suits a particular product

How lessons run
